SENIOR CORPS WEEK FLASH MOB

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Flash Mob at the Ogden Utah Farmers Market on Septmenber 17th.  We had a blast!  Over 100 Foster Grandparents, Senior Companions  and RSVP members participated.  We also had over 50 youth from Ben Lomond High School participate.  Thanks everyone for making this such a success.  A special thanks to our video people and for J.D. for putting the video togther.

NOW RECRUITING FOR THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR

NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK April 10-16 2011

A special thanks to each and every one of our Foster Grandparents.  They have accomplished so much this school year.  As our staff traveled to each school and met with principals, literacy specialists and teachers we heard so many great stories of the great impact our Foster Grandparents have had on the academic and social skills of the children they tutor.

WELCOME TO OUR NEW BLOG

Foster Grandparents are role models, mentors and friends.  They serve in area schools, Head Start Centers and youth facilities helping children learn to read, providing one on one tutoring and guiding children at a critical time in their lives. 

To Join the program you must be over the age of 55, willing to serve 15-40 hours a week and living on an income below $1,805 a month for a single person and $2,428 a month for a couple and pass a background screening.  For their service Foster Grandparents receive a stipend of $2.65 an hour, mileage reimbursement and training.
